Facts about Car- First Episode in the History

1. The First Indian to own a car was Jamshedji Ratan Tata in 1901 in Bombay (Mumbai).

2. The First Woman to drive a car in India was Mrs. Suzanne R D Tata in 1905.

3. The First Automobile company that offered a Compass and a Camera as standard equipment was Templar (Touring roadster) in 1919.

4.  The First car that came equipped as standard with the steering wheel was the Panhard et Levassoe cars back in 1898. Earlier cars did not have a steering wheel and the drivers steered with a lever.

5. . The World’s First fuel Gauge was invented by John Gilbert Collison in 1917 when Cars didn’t have fuel gauges and drivers used to guess the amount left in the tank. He however took the idea to General Motors Company in 1920.
