Hollywood was a 17-minute short film ‘In
old California’ was directed by D.W.
Griffith for the Biograph Company in 1910.
2. The First Studio
was established by the Nestor Company
on October 1911. It was built at the
Blondeau Tavern building on the
northwest corner of Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street, Los Angeles.
3. The
First Hotel to be constructed in the
Hollywood was ‘The Glen-Holly Hotel’
in 1895. It was built by Joakim Berg, a noted artist of the
1890’s in the region.
4. The
First Nightclub of Hollywood was ‘Cafe Montmartre’ and it was opened by Adolph ‘Eddie’ in 1923 at 6763 Hollywood Boulevard.
5. The First
Motion Film Studio in the world was Thomas Edison’s ‘Black Maria’ in West Orange, New
Hersey built in 1893. It costs
around $637 to build it.
