Facts about Hollywood- Change in the History

1. The First Hollywood Film to be released with the stipulation that no one under the age 18 would be allowed in the theatre was ‘Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf’ in 1966 directed by Mike Nichols.





2. The First Hollywood Motion Film to depict a non-pornographic act was ‘Extase’, a Czech romantic drama film directed by Gustav Machaty in 1933. It starred Hedwig Kiesler known later as Hedy Lamarr.




3. The First Hollywood Known American Pornographic Film was ‘A Free Ride’ in 1915. It was also named ‘A Grass Sandwich’. The information regarding the team, who made it, is still unknown but whatsoever information we have, is quite amusing. The film was directed by ‘A. Wise Guy’ and written by ‘Will She’.




4. The First Hollywood Landmark Film that signaled a shift from “Classic Hollywood “ to “New Hollywood” was ‘Bonnie & Clyde’ in 1967. It broke several social taboos and traditional filming techniques.




5. The First Hollywood Film to receive an X rating under the Motion Picture Association of America system of classification was ‘Greetings’ in 1968. It was an anti-establishment film directed by Brian De Palma.
